About
Mum to two American born rascals, wife to an adventure thrill seeker & lover of taking a few too many photographs in ever session.
While my love of photography started with simple snaps in high school, my real love of photography started when the aforementioned ‘adventure thrill seeker’ husband and I moved from Melbourne to Perth, Australia and ventured every weekend to a new campsite, offroad track, and dive location. We’ve since relocated back to home amongst the grandparents in beautiful Bayside, Melbourne.
Fast forward 7 years, a couple of international moves and one fluffy Bernedoodle, here we are today. An incredible 10,000+ strong collection of images from throughout the world and two young kids who we can’t wait to show the beauty in the great outdoors.
Family Lifestyle sessions, a passion project of mine, started when I realised how few photos I was in myself with my kids (with the exception of the blurry, quick selfies with bubs). In the first year of our baby’s life, and every year thereafter, we spend every waking moment tending to them, loving on them, fixing lunches, attending doctors/speech therapy/dentist appointments, hoping they’ll go back to sleep and creating bonds. I love looking back on photos of my own mum playing and interacting with us, they further strengthen the incredible memories I have of a wonderful, magical childhood.
That is why family lifestyle sessions are so important.
They’re not forcefully posed, nor are they begrudgingly taken ‘for the grandparents’. They’re the moments that happen between the directions, the every day - the dad juggling mandarins to entertain the toddler - the mum who snuggles a few extra seconds to make their little one feel all the love in the world - the big sister who helps her little brother bounce on the trampoline or the dog who shows his love with a huge unannounced lick to the face.
Families come in all shapes, sizes and change every second; it’s so very important to document them; ours today includes energy, outdoors, fresh air, house hunting, a dog who thinks he is the size of a mouse, giggles, Cars the Movie - a lot of McQueen, meltdowns, homemade pizza and not a lot of sleep.
